Vlasic seems like a 'longer term' project. When he started it was like he was playing with somebody else's mates. Seems to slowly becoming more involved and I think the lad will come good given a bit more time. He could do with a goal to help his confidence.

He has looked piss poor so far what ive seen of him. Hope he can turn that around, as he does seem like a worker.

Genk were the better team in the first half in the last game.
We don't have that much pace with ⚒️team.
Having Bowen in there will help but would like to see Fornals and Rice there too for 60 mins for their energy.

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
Was hearing today that Vlasic' fee isn't as high as originally advertised, apparently it's 18 mil, plus 9 mil of possible add on's. Hopefully that's true.

Agree with the first bit, disagree with the second bit.

I've seen nothing to suggest that money would have been better spent on a striker, or even Lingard.... yet.

I very much dount any of those 5 would get into any other PL team, maybe Norwich but none would improve them much.
Name me another team

Yarmo can't score when he's playing upfront with a strong team around him,we look vunerable when he plays left of a front 3
Fredericks-always injured and not that good when fit.
Masuaku-waste of space,creates nothing,scores never.
Noble - only playing for us as he had been here all his career, dressing room influence would not work in another team, can work with a Rice or Soucek next to him but not for 90 mins
Kral-jury's out-injured or covid, hasn't played much needs to restart his season

May have been covered: what if someone has a ticket but in a mates name ?

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
I expect a strong team.

Areola

Coufal
Dawson
Diop
Cress (maybe Fred if he's fit)

Soucek (Kral perhaps if fit)
Noble

Vlasic
Lanzini
Yarmo

Bowen

Fab
Fred/Cress
Ashby
Baptiste
Zouma
Kral/Soucek
Benrahma
Masuaku
Chesters

and we'll win a tight game, and with any luck the other game will end a draw and we'll be home and hosed.

At this rate we could end up playing Bruge in the last 16.

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
I think the team put out by double hammers should be enough to beat them.

I'd like to see Bowen for Yarmolenko and Cresswell for Johnson because neither of those will have international duty coming up so they get a decent break before the fixture pile up.

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
As per the league cup I think we can now see that Moyes is playing similar sides in each the league cup and EL games, and expect that to continue tonight. I think Moyes will want this one so can go weak in the last 2 games. From the knockout stages it has to be full strength, as should Spurs in the cup.

El Scorchio 12:58 Thu Nov 4
Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
We should look to field a strong team here and Sunday to get the group wrapped up. Two games to the international break where a lot of them can have some recovery.

After that break, we have 13 games in 43 days. That's brutal. Almost a game every three days for six weeks. 6 in 16 during December. We will need every single one of the squad for that and he's going to have to prioritise games

If we win tonight then really we've topped the group and we can disregard the last two Europa group games which eases the congestion somewhat. We have a cup quarter final to prepare for in the middle of that too.

It does make me start to see what the likes of Klopp and Mourinho always whinge about this time of year.

"I hope Moyes sticks to his principles and plays astrong team."

Moyes has played Yarmo, Noble and Fredericks during the previous Europa games, davey. He's obviously played Kral and Masuaku for Prem games, so I don't see why he wouldn't play them for Europa games.

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
The only difference between this game and the home game is that Genk will have to show more attacking intent this time round which leaves them open to counter attacks.

There is no point in them sitting back and hoping for a point.

We won't lose this game.

Manuel

I think Genk will surprise you and others tonight.
Like others have said the players wanted European footie. It's at Rice's and Souceks agenda.
Win this and we're through as top team.

Some people putting Yarmo-won't track back enough and needs one to many touches-Fredericks- a headless chciken and no awareness, been injured for most of the season-Kral-hardly played this season, had covid,it's nothing to be sneezed- Masuaku-the worst player at the club, does nothing but miss chances and doesn't create-Noble-legs have gone, one good game doesn't make him a shoe in here, wait for when we a re qualified.

Put those 5 players in together and we'll get slaughted even by Genk.

I hope Moyes sticks to his principles and plays astrong team. Liverpool did against Athletico
Only Robertson and Mane (get him booked early on and he'll be a liability ) didn't complete a full 90 from who will start on Sunday

Re: Team for Genk - Europa League
Yep, and that will come back when the knockout stages come around. But it's madness just to dismiss a 38 game league season. We would soon be pissed off if we were losing all the time, even if doing well in Europe.

Ha you know what I mean on an excitement level, I wasn't expecting us to be cruising so easily in it and to be more excited by a league game.
